AthID Beta Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern participation in the AthID Beta Program (“Beta”).

AthID is a digital identity and ownership credential service operated by Standard Plinth Pty Ltd (“Standard Plinth”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By creating an AthID account or participating in the Beta, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, you must not use AthID.

2. Nature of the Service

AthID provides:

• Digital identity registration
• Identity verification processes
• Wallet provisioning (beta environment only)
• Ownership credential issuance for digital content
• Access control infrastructure for integrated publishers

AthID does not:

• Sell books or content directly
• Operate a marketplace
• Provide investment services
• Offer financial products
• Guarantee resale opportunities
• Provide banking services
• Provide regulated custodial financial services

Digital content is supplied by independent publishers. AthID provides identity and access infrastructure only.

3. Beta Status

AthID is currently provided as a limited beta service.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• The Beta is experimental.
• Features may change, be modified, or be removed at any time.
• Data, credentials, or wallets may be reset.
• No service level guarantees apply.
• The Beta may be discontinued at our discretion.

Participation in the Beta is voluntary and at your own risk.

4. Devnet Environment

During the Beta:

• All wallets operate on a development network (“Devnet”).
• Tokens, credentials, and assets on Devnet have no monetary value.
• Devnet assets cannot be exchanged for money.
• Devnet assets may be reset, modified, or deleted without notice.

You acknowledge that Devnet ownership instruments are for testing purposes only and are not intended to represent real-world economic value.

5. Account Registration & Identity

To use AthID, you must:

• Provide accurate and complete information.
• Complete identity verification when required.
• Maintain control of your login credentials.
• Not impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.

You are responsible for all activity under your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts for:

• Fraud
• Abuse
• Misrepresentation
• Security concerns
• Breach of these Terms

6. Wallet Provisioning (Beta)

During the Beta:

• AthID may generate custodial wallets on your behalf for testing purposes.
• Private keys may be managed by AthID in the Beta environment.
• Beta wallets will not carry over to production; new wallets will be provisioned at launch.
• Devnet wallets do not represent financial custody.

AthID is not a bank and does not provide regulated custodial services.

7. Ownership Credentials (Beta)

AthID may issue digital ownership credentials that:

• Represent access rights to publisher-provided content.
• Enable access enforcement via integrated systems.

During the Beta:

• Ownership credentials are non-transferable.
• Credentials are issued solely for testing access functionality.

Ownership credentials:

• Are not financial instruments.
• Do not represent shares, securities, or investments.
• Do not entitle you to profit, income, or returns.
• Exist solely to enable access to digital content.

8. Publisher Integrations

AthID may integrate with independent publishers.

Where identity or verification data is submitted by a publisher:

• AthID relies on the accuracy of that information.
• AthID does not independently guarantee its correctness unless explicitly stated.

Publishers remain responsible for:

• Their content
• Their commercial terms
• Their compliance obligations

AthID provides identity and access infrastructure only.

9. Acceptable Use

You must not:

• Attempt to exploit the Beta for unintended purposes.
• Interfere with system security or integrity.
• Reverse engineer or probe infrastructure.
• Use AthID for unlawful activity.

We reserve the right to suspend access if misuse is detected.

10. No Economic Value (Beta)

You acknowledge that:

• Devnet credentials have no economic value.
• No ownership instrument issued during Beta has market value.
• No expectation of resale, transfer, or financial gain is created by participation.
• AthID is not designed or offered as an investment or trading platform.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:

• AthID is provided “as is” during Beta.
• We make no warranties regarding uninterrupted or error-free service.
• We are not liable for loss of data arising from Beta participation.
• We are not responsible for disputes relating to publisher content.

Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer guarantees that cannot legally be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you in connection with the Beta is limited to the greater of:

• AUD $1; or
• The amount (if any) paid by you to participate in the Beta.

As the Beta is provided free of charge, this cap reflects the nature of the testing environment.

12. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion, including for:

• Security concerns
• Legal requirements
• Policy violations

You may cease using AthID at any time.

13. Privacy

Your use of AthID is governed by our Privacy Policy.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification.

Continued use of AthID after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
